Overview: A proposed 20-story residential building is planned at 12th and Sansom Streets in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The building will host underground parking and 412 residential units. GeoStructures was retained by Greystar Development to provide pre-demolition surveys, vibration monitoring, and construction inspection and materials testing for the project.

A pre-existing parking garage was demolished on the proposed building footprint. GeoStructures performed 13 pre-demolition surveys of adjacent properties to document the conditions prior to project kick-off. During construction, two geophones and a microphone were installed in adjacent structures to monitor construction vibration activity and noise for the duration of the project.
GeoStructures also performed construction inspection and materials testing, including footing and mat foundation bearing verification, soil backfill and compaction testing, rebar inspection, floor flatness inspection (F-number), structural steel inspection, fireproofing, and cast-in-place concrete.
