The Agnes Irwin School Dining and Athletic Facility,
Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania
Overview: The Agnes Irwin School is a prestigious all-girls private school located off the Main Line in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania. Over the last decade, GeoStructures has provided numerous services to the school, including inspection and materials testing for the construction of a new dining and athletic facility.
Highlights & Related Services:
GeoStructures first began work with Agnes Irwin in 2010 by performing a geotechnical investigation for proposed school buildings. In 2011, as a part of the LEED certification process, we completed an environmental assessment (Phase I ESA) in connection with proposed facility improvements. In 2012, GeoStructures tailored an asbestos abatement plan and conducted air monitoring as part of the asbestos abatement/demolition program. In 2013, we performed a spill-response and provided a non-destructive remedial solution using a desorption/leaching process for the fuel oil-impacted soil at the site.
More recently, from March 2013 to August 2014, GeoStructures performed inspection and materials testing for the construction of a new athletic facility including foundation subgrade proof-rolling, rock anchors drilling and testing, lime modification of subgrade soils, cast-in-place concrete and masonry testing, and structural steel inspection.
