Vasili is a detail-oriented laboratory manager with 12 years of experience providing geotechnical and concrete laboratory services for a variety of projects, including high-scale PennDOT and PA Turnpike Commission studies. He constantly evaluates possibilities to improve and expand laboratory capabilities. In addition, he is experienced in finite element modeling (FEM), a variety of geotechnical instrumentation, as well as non-destructive testing, vibration monitoring, and structural evaluation.

Justin Roth earned his Master of Science in Geology from Temple University in 2014. Justin has over 7 years of professional experience as a petrologist/petrographer, stemming from his decade-long relationship with the petrographic microscope. Spending the first part of his career as a petrologist in the oil and gas industry, Justin achieved expertise in various methods of characterizing rock-types based on composition, texture, organic content, porosity, and permeability. As a petrographer in the geotechnical engineering industry, Justin characterizes concrete samples based on aggregate composition, cement paste quality, water/cement ratio, air void percentage, depth of carbonation, and evidence of alkali-silica reactions (ASR). Through these investigations, Justin provides insight into concrete’s big-picture ideas: potential failure mechanisms, corrosion, weathering/leaching, fire damage, sulfate attack, and freeze/thaw durability.

Tom has quickly adapted to geotechnical drilling in the greater Philadelphia area as the primary operator of a Geoprobe 7822DT drill rig. Tom is essential in maintaining drilling equipment, and has experience in USDA soil classification and in-situ soil permeability testing. His mechanical background, along with his education in the natural sciences has made him a great fit within the company.
