Soil-Structure Interaction Analysis and Modeling

Service Overview

GeoStructures extensive expertise in soil-structure interaction, constitutive modeling, and geotechnical applications of the finite element method (FEM) analysis enables us to better understand and optimize complex foundations, braced excavations, slopes and retaining systems, embankments, dams, and pavements. Yet, no amount of modeling and sophisticated analyses can account for missing key subsurface factors. Thus, before accurately modeling any given project, GeoStructures places significant emphasis on subsurface site characterization to identify critical and unique subsurface factors. This practice is the main distinguishing feature of our work and truly sets us apart from our competitors.
Service Offerings

Site-Specific Response Spectra and Soil Dynamic Analysis

Perform site-specific response spectra and soil dynamic analysis to understand and predict soil behavior under dynamic loads, such as earthquakes.

Braced Excavations

Analyze and model braced excavations to ensure stability and safety during construction, considering soil-structure interaction.

Pavement Stress Analysis and Mechanistic Design

Conduct stress analysis and mechanistic design for pavements to optimize performance and durability based on soil-structure interaction principles.

Steady-State Seepage and Transient Flow Analysis

Perform steady-state seepage and transient flow analysis to evaluate groundwater movement and its impact on soil-structure interaction.

Groundwater Modeling and Contaminant Transport

Model groundwater flow and contaminant transport to predict and mitigate environmental impacts on soil-structure systems.

Machine Foundations

Design and analyze machine foundations to ensure stability and performance, considering dynamic loads and soil-structure interaction.

Lateral Capacity of Piles and Caissons

Assess the lateral capacity of piles and caissons to ensure they can withstand lateral loads, such as wind or seismic forces.

Stress Deformation Behavior of Foundation Systems

Analyze the stress deformation behavior of foundation systems to predict and optimize performance under various load conditions.

Soft and Hard Ground Tunneling

Model and analyze tunneling in both soft and hard ground conditions to ensure stability and safety, considering soil-structure interaction.
